Why Water
The world doesn't have a water problem. It has an energy problem.
There is more than enough water in the ocean. The challenge has always been the cost - in energy, in coastline, in environmental damage - of getting the salt out.

The conventional approach
Why desalination has been stuck
The technology exists. The problem is that it asks too much of the grid, the coastline, and the climate.
Energy-hungry plants
Conventional reverse-osmosis plants run massive high-pressure pumps onshore. They burn fossil fuels, strain grids, and make water expensive.
Brine and coastline damage
Large plants discharge concentrated brine back into the sea and occupy kilometres of sensitive coastline. The cure can become part of the disease.
Water where it isn't
The communities that need fresh water most - islands, arid coasts, remote settlements - are the least able to build and power a conventional plant.
The shift
Stop fighting the ocean. Start using it.
Waterfountain reframes the problem. Instead of manufacturing pressure on the surface, we use the pressure the ocean already provides - and let physics do the heavy lifting.
